THIS IS INTERESTING

Are you kidding me? It's a bit hard to believe that people could possibly be so ignorant that they would actually buy things like this. But then again...

And thankfully, this article doesn't condone such awful thoughts.

Interesting.

On my own, apart from Scriptural revelation, I am in no position to reason with any significant authority that hell or hells exist.

Without Scriptural revelation, I am in position to reason with any significant authority that there is an afterlife.

I simply attempt to make the most sense of this reality via historical Scriptural revelation.

The Lord's reasoning, unlike mine is not human. It is far superior to my reasoning. I would not send persons to hell, but I am finite and sinful unlike the Almighty.

The Lord alone judges persons in finality.

Thanks, Jacob.

NO PROBLEM, Russell.

I just find it ridiculous that some people can't look past a person's goodness.

If Jesus exists, then he would see the person's worth and overall goodness. If he's there and is as forgiving as G-d, that person would not be in for an eterniuty of torture. If he isn't, then it's the same outcome.

Thanks, Jacob.

As you know from scanning thekingpin68 and satire and theology, I respect Jewish culture, religion, and scholars.

It is good to be able to blog with someone with a different religion and/or philosophy in a pleasant way. It is good we can feel safe enough on each other's blogs that we know the other guy is not going to rip our head off.

Anyway, I have written on hell on thekingpin68 with Lecture and Study notes, and C.S. Lewis relating to free will and hell, and annihilation recently on satire and theology. These can be found on a blog search if anyone wants to see my leanings.

Some guy named Dan went out of his way to tell me off on the Lewis article and I let him have his say for awhile.

Cheers, Jacob, and all the best with the screenwriting.

Russ

THANK YOU. I have read on your views and, hell, I can't verify a hell or not either.

With the exception of jleisure (or whatever his name is), I generally don't ruin people like that. With a given reason (such as the one I had), I will.

Jacob,

Hi. The author of that newspaper article is obviously a God-hater. To appeal to people's emotions in order to attack God is, as you implied, ridiculous.

God does not judge based on emotion.
People are the ones who get tied up in emotional likes and dislikes. God judges based on truth, righteousness and holiness.

I believe that Abraham Lincoln was a Christian and is now in Heaven.

I very much enjoyed reading the Anne Frank book years ago. Another excellent book was "The Hiding Place" by Corrie Ten Boom. I would also very highly recommend the book, "Betrayed!" by Stan Telchin.

Jacob, from reading Russ' comment, I assume you are Jewish. If that is the case, I do not mean to offend you, or to get into any argument with you, but I am only speaking my heart, and what I truly believe. I wanted to say that before I continued with this:

Every one of us on this planet is a sinner:

"All have turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one"
(Psalm 14:3)

"Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me." (Psalm 51:5)

"For we have all become like one who is unclean [ceremonially, like a leper], and all our righteousness (our best deeds of rightness and justice) is like filthy rags or a polluted garment; we all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away [far from God's favor, hurrying us toward destruction]."
(Isaiah 64:6)

...and every one of us has fallen short of the glory of God. Every person has lied, cheated, lusted, gossiped, hated, stolen, etc. Our words, thoughts and actions are tainted with sin, pride and selfishness. God is holy and righteous, and is no respecter of persons. In the Old Testament/Torah, God did not put up with sin, and neither will He after we die. He sent Yeshua Hamashiah to be the fulfillment and final sacrifice, and through Yeshua, we can obtain circumcision of the heart.

"I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh." (Ezekial 11:19)

"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh." (Ezekial 36:26)

"But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify." (Romans 3:21)

"Then he believed in the LORD; and He reckoned it to him as righteousness." (Genesis 15:6)

"Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered." (Psalm 32:1)

Yeshua was a sinless male, the Lamb of God, and our sins were transmitted to Him when He died on the cross, just as the people's sins were symbolically transmitted to the burnt offering in Leviticus:
"If the offering is a burnt offering from the herd, he is to offer a male without defect. He must present it at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting so that it will be acceptable to the LORD. He is to lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it will be accepted on his behalf to make atonement for him." (Leviticus 1:3,4)

Here is an interesting article on Hell.

Thanks for reading my comment.

HOLY WOW, Jeff.

I agree. Everyone sins. I also beleive that everyone has sinned. At least once.

Even Jesus questioned G-d.

I thank you for the informative links and thank you. I hope that you continue reading.
